Academic Requirements

Scholastic Eligibility

Students must have earned a minimum GPA of 2.0 in the previous marking period.

  • A grade of “Incomplete” shall be counted as an F until the work is completed and the grade is officially changed*.
  • A grade of “Pass” (P) or “Fail” (F) shall not be computed in the GPA.
  • Grades become effective on the Date of Determination as assigned by the district athletic directors at the start of each school year.
  • A student may repeat a second semester class during summer school and use the higher of the 2 grades to determine initial eligibility in the fall

All incoming freshman are granted eligibility in their first quarter upon entering in high school.

*For a grade to be “officially changed” requires proof that a grade change request has been sent to the office of the registrar on campus and an official change has occurred on the official transcript, not simply an adjustment to a teacher’s grade book or a change on school loop.

In order to be cleared for participation by the Athletic Director student athletes:

  1. MUST have submitted an online Athletic Packet through FamilyID (click the button above)
  2. MUST submit a current physical signed by your doctor (this can be uploaded or submitted to the Athletic Director directly)
  3. MUST have a minimum 2.0 GPA*

Simply submitting all your information does not guarantee clearance.  Students must verify that they have been CLEARED before they can participate in a tryout, practice or game.

Academic Probation

To be eligible to apply for academic probation, a student’s GPA in the current marking period must be between 1.66 and 1.99 with no more than 1 F AND  they must have had a 2.0 or above on the previous marking period.

  • The student must be able to document an “extenuating circumstance” that caused the low GPA or F grade.
  • Academic Probation will only be granted one time in either 9th or 10th grade and one time in either 11th or 12th grade.
  • Academic Probation will only be granted at the beginning of a season.  Student athletes may not use academic probation to extend their eligibility in the middle of a season.
