The Future Academy believes that continuing education is a necessary tool for today’s high school graduates. In college, students explore real-world issues and further develop the skills necessary to make valuable contributions to society.
College Tours
Students in the Future Academy visit colleges several times throughout their high school career. These visits introduce students to the application process, entrance requirements, and how to be successful after high school, but most importantly they implant the “college bug” early on and inspire students to take the steps towards college.
The Future Academy has made trips to:
UC Berkeley
UC Santa Cruz
UC Davis
Cal State East Bay
San Jose State University
San Francisco State University
Mills College
Holy Names University
College Research Projects
Future Academy students do independent and group research projects designed to inform themselves and their learning community of important information about a variety of colleges and universities. Students do class presentations and create posters for hallway display in the school.
Future Alumni
Approximately 90 percent of Future Academy students continue on to higher education. The most recent graduates are attending UC Santa Cruz, UC Berkeley, UC Davis, Arizona State University, University of Portland, and the University of the Pacific.
