Head Coach: Kurt Bryan

Offensive Coordinator, Quarterbacks, Wide Receivers, Anchors

 

New Arroyo Dons Head Varsity Football Coach, Kurt Bryan enters his 26th year of coaching football at the high school and collegiate levels throughout northern California.

 

Before coming to Arroyo, Bryan coached at Chico State University, Chico High School, Piedmont High School, Menlo College, St. Mary’s College and Livermore High School.  

 

Twice, Bryan served as the Head Football Coach at Piedmont High School, 1993-96, and 2006-10, encompassing a total of 96 games. As a Head Coach, Bryan’s record is (52 – 43 – 1) with one undefeated league championship in 1995, six playoff appearances, and three Conference Coach of the Year honors, 1993, 1995 and 2007.

Coach Bryan guarantees that every football player will play in every game, as long that player is academically eligible, participates in practice all week, and is physically cleared to play.

 

JV Head Coach: Mikel Dace

Strength and Conditioning, Offensive Line

 

This will be Coach Dace's first year as a part of the Arroyo High School football program. He is passionate about football and loves every aspect of the game.  Coach Dace has eight years of experience coaching youth football with the Hayward Lancers. He is looking forward to coaching this year and being a part of a great program. Go Dons!!



 

Assistant Coach: Lenard Matthews

Varsity Defensive Coordinator, Linebackers

 

Coach Matthews is a PE and ROP teacher at Cal High (San Ramon).  He comes to our staff with more than 20 years of teaching and coaching experience at all levels.  He has coached at 7 different schools, including San Lorenzo, coaching all levels and positions along the way.  In addition to coaching football, Coach Matthews has coached track and field for almost as long. 


 

Assistant Coach: Anthony Jackson

JV Defensive Coordinator, Defensive Backs

 

Coach Anthony has spent the last 10 years in and around coaching. As well as playing football, basketball, baseball and running track and field he has also had significant experience training individuals for athletics. He has worked with individuals at many levels: high school, adult, and young children. He has worked with POP Warner football, coached middle school basketball, flag football and trained athletes who play professional sports. One of his major goals is to help student athletes get to college by mastering the training and application processes.

   

 

Assistant Coach: Galone Parker

Running Backs, Utility (Off/Def/Special Teams)

 

Coach Parker played Running back for Pittsburg High School from 1992-1996.  After graduating in 1996, he played for Los Medanos Junior College.  Coach Parker coached for two years for the San Ramon Bears youth football, and in 2012 was an assistant for Mike Powers and in 2013 was the head junior midget coach.

Coach Parker is from Pittsburg, Ca. He currently lives in Tracy with his wife and three children. Coach Parker is very grateful to be a part of the Arroyo family and looks forward to contributing to the programs success.
