The district sent the following information about the H1N1 virus to the Arroyo staff:

Dear Staff,

During this flu season, the San Lorenzo USD will be monitoring the incidence of flu carefully, and reporting any trends or outbreaks to the Alameda County Public Health Department. Currently, there have been some cases of H1N1 flu reported by parents, but unconfirmed by Alameda County Public Health Department. At this time, under the guidance of the county health department, we believe students and staff can safely attend school.

Recommendations may change during the course of a flu outbreak, but at this time, anyone that is not ill, can attend school as usual. Everyone should be reminded to be aware of precautions to protect themselves against the spread of germs; to wash hands thoroughly with soap and water, stay at least 3 feet away from people who are sick, and cover sneezes and coughs by sneezing into their elbows, as during any other flu outbreak.

If recommendations change during the course of the flu season, you will be informed.
